Well one more week into the month and true to their name the April showers have come along and somewhat dampened our sunny disposition, however with so many exciting plans for Snow Queen this year there is no danger of our smiles fading 

Last week we provided refreshment for guests of GQ magazine during a personal shopping event at House of Fraser's Oxford st store, 

Our Snow Queen bar looked right at home surrounded by House of Frasers amazing collection of menswear, positioned between the many choices of shoes ,suits ,casual wear and anything else the modern man could possibly require.

Guests sipped on Moscow Mules as they perused selections of the  latest mens summer season lines guide by GQs style editor,

The night was a great success and the great standard of Snow Queen Vodka was perfectly mirrored by the amazing array of choices provided by House of Fraser and amazing advise from the best mens fashion magazine in the world GQ .

its incredibly easy to mix and the ingredients are few, simple and easy to find,

this drink is warming on cold rainy nights but is also surprisingly refreshing on a warm day served over generous amounts of ice.

First Week of April

Its the first week of April and summer is right around the corner, now is the time to start packing away the winter coats and searching for the swim suits and sunglasses,

Last week saw the launch party of a brand new TV channel "London Live" and Snow Queen Vodka was very happy to be a one of the sponsors ,  the evening was a great success with great cocktails and the prospect of some great new programming on its way to us soon ,

last week also saw Snow Queen Vodka as one of the sponsors at the premiere of new film "Almost Married"
A new film with Inbetweeners star "Emily Atack"
it is a romantic comedy with a very different and modern plot line, a nice refreshingly funny easy watch for the summer .

This week is just as busy as on Thursday evening Snow Queen Vodka will be Drinks Sponsor at the GQ House of Fraser reader event in Oxford st,
Shopping for new summer attire whilst sipping a crisp cold Snow Queen on the rocks sounds like it will be the perfect way to spend a Thursday evening,

 

So in short we have a new TV station to watch ,

A new film to look out for and hopefully a few new items from House of Fraser to add to our summer clothing collections,

All that seems to be missing now is our food and drink selection  

 

We have sourced a delicious recipe that combines amazing seafood with the great taste of Snow Queen Vodka to create a sizzling summer flavour sensation named

 

The Tipsy BBQ Prawn 

250ml Snow Queen vodka

250ml citrus juice made from freshly squeezed oranges, limes and lemons

25g peeled ginger finely chopped

1/2 clove garlic finely Chopped

Sugar, to taste

250g miso paste

125ml light cooking oil, preferably sesame, rapeseed or vegetable

450g small prawns, rinsed, shells intact

225g scallops

 

 

 In a mixing bowl, combine the vodka, citrus, ginger, garlic, sugar and miso paste and            Whisk Using light, rapid sweeping strokes to thicken or thoroughly combine ingredients.

 Pour the marinade over the unpeeled prawns and scallops. Cover and leave to marinate in the refrigerator for 45-60 minutes. Skewer the prawns and scallops  and place on a barbecue over direct heat. Allow the tails and legs of the prawns to slightly blacken before turning. The scallops should brown slightly before turning.

Serve with a simple clean Snow Queen on the rocks with a twist of lemon for the perfect flavour combo .

The Sun is out so enjoy the good food, the summer clothes and the great company but whatever you happen to be doing don't forget there is always room for a bit of ice in summer just as long as it is in your drinks

Tomorrow is oficialy the first full day of spring and all of us here at Snow Queen Vodka certainly do have a spring in our step,

After a great event last week (the GQ comedy extravaganza) this week saw the arrival of the Annual Snow Queen Vodka Martinin masters competition in association with The Spirits Business.

The stunning afternoon took place at one of londons most famous establishments "The Ivy"

The top floor was transformed into a mixolagists workshop and whilst our lovely host for the afternoon Daisy Jones kicks off proceedings 11 experts put the finishing touches the to their artistically created Martinis

As the Judging starts guests enjoy the most amazing canopes beutifully created and crafted by the Ivy chefs to perfectly compliment the stunning workmanship that was taking place in front of the judging pannel 

With our 11 competitiors each taking 10 minutes to piece together and take us through the details and inspiration behind there martini creations, with ingredients ranging from the simple to the scientific the displays were a mix of wonderful flavour stories and drinkable works of art

after an initial idividual judging round the contestants were whittled down to just 4 finalists Robb Collins, Sam Baxandale, Matteo Corsalini and Fabio immovilli

Each of the four finalists is given 15 minutes and a mystery box contaning identical ingredients, they have 5 minutes to come up with a recipe and then 10 minutes to put there ideas into practice in front of our judges

after some extremrly hard descision making are winner Robb Collins was crowned with his Martini 

"Queen Of Hearts"

60ml Snow Queen vodka

20ml Dry vermouth

4 Dashes of cardamom bitters

3 Dashes of rose water

Mandarin zest

Cardamom seeds

Method
Stir ingredients together in a mixing glass and serve straight up then garnish with mandarin zest and warmed cardamom seeds.

Well the sun is finally showing it's face and seems like the uk may finally be cheering up all around , it's time to clean off the BBQs swap out the winter wardrobe for the summer atire and start adding a bit more ice to our drinks ,

It has been a great week so far for Snow Queen vodka , not only have we had some great meetings about some very exciting projects for the current year but we also started the week with a fantastic evening of fun and laughter,

Monday evening saw the arrival of the long awaited GQ comedy extravaganza at the Eventim Apollo 

Snow Queen Vodka sponsored the evening and some of the countries top comedians donated there time to raise money for the victims of abuse or as one comedian joked to test out material for there upcoming tours .

The evening was hosted by the amazingly talented and hilarious James Mullinger (above) who immediately put the packed theatre in great spirits and started off the evening of non stop laughter , the night continued with the who's who of  Britains comedy circuit , Jason Byrne, Omid Djalili, Greg Davies, Katherine ryan, Russell Kane, John Bishop andCarly Smallman just to name a few ,

As you can imagine the evening was non stop fun from start to finish And the evening all around was a great success Raising a lot of money and hopefully paving the way for other nights just like it ,

Congratulations and thank you to the Fantastic James Mullinger for putting the night together and creating and hosting such a good show

with such a good start to the week everyone here at Snow Queen Vodka is in high spirits and excited for even more upcoming SQV events, next week will see the Snow Queen Martini masters competition where Britains best martini maker will be crowned ,

Welcome back to the Snow Queen Blog 
this week it was finally time for an event that all of us at Snow Queen have been extremely excited about.
On Thursday 27th February Snow Queen sponsored the first ever Harrods Wine Vault event
 featuring up and coming performer Joel Baker and Singer Songriter Katie Melua  

 Whilst the Famous Harrods iluminations lit up the streets of london outside the Harrods wine vault inside had undergone a tranformation into a Snow Queen inspired Bar and stage ready to host an evening of great music food and cocktails

As people are enjoying their first cocktails courtesy of 3 of Britains top mixologists,  incredible canapes and sushi are served courtesy of the incredible Pan Chai and Mango Tree
with an amazing array of colours  flavours and textures the food looks just as wonderful as the accompanying SQ cocktails

As everyone enjoys the wonderful flavours its time to start the entertainment and amazingly talented up and coming artist Joel Baker takes to the stage, With a charm and stage pressence to rival any top performer Joel warmed the crows with not only his amzing songs and incredible singing voice but also his charming reparte with the audience ,

Now the crowd are suitably warmed up not only by the SQ cocktails but also by the great music and atmosphere our headline act Katie Melua takes to the Harrods wine vault stage , with a set consisting of classic Katie Mellua tracks and songs from her amazing brand new album KETEVAN, as you would expect from such an amazing talent each one of her performances was as beautiful as the last,

During this wonderful evening of food, drinks and entertainment Snow Queen Vodka was displayed around the room and looked right at home in the stunning Harrods Wine Vault and in the hands of guests and performers alike , and as the wonderful event comes to an end there is just enough time for us to enjoy one last cocktail before we close the doors on a great event which we hope will be the first of many more to come.

Well its been another week of relentless British weather with non stop cold and rain and the whole country feels wetter than James Blunt in a swimming pool, 

So whilst we battle our way through the remainder of these cold grey days and nights we can still have fun and enjoy ourselves, 

This week on the blog i would like to share with you some cocktail recipes to not only perk up your evening but also warm you up 

Starting with 

Spicy Cranberry Cosmo

50ml Snow Queen Vodka

50ml Ginger Wine 

100ml Cranberry Juice

Squeeze of lime juice 

Try matching this cocktail with  cream cheese and parma ham bellinis

the second of our cocktails is a bit different , we are all used to having our vodka served over ice but how about a bit of a change 

The Adults White Hot Chocolate

1 cup milk

2 tablespoons white chocolate chips 

25ml Snow Queen Vodka  

Sprinkle of cocoa powder

Add white chocolate chips to milk and heat until melted, 

add Snow Queen Vodka to a tall glass and pour over the chocolate milk mix, add a sprinkle off cocoa powder for decoration and serve warm with an oatmeal cookie or rich chocolate brownie

This Week

Wednesday evening gave us The Brit Awards and despite the miserable weather the stars were out in full force , 

As an army of Jimmy Choo's and Manolo Blanhiks made there way down the slightly soggy red carpet James Corden presented us with an evening filled with laughs and music, 

After the show ended Londons top bars and clubs were flooded not with rain water but with the who's who of the british entertainment industry enjoying many cocktails either celebrating wins or softening the blow of there loss , 

we have had a lot of lovely messages on twitter this week with a lot of People trying Snow Queen for the first time and loving it,

Spicy Vodka Pasta

• 3 tablespoons olive oil
• 8 medium garlic cloves, sliced paper thin
• 4 medium shallots, halved lengthwise and sliced paper thin
• Kosher salt
• Freshly ground black pepper
• 8 fresh oregano sprigs
• 2 small dried red chiles, crumbled
• 1 1/4 cups Snow Queen Vodka
• 3 pounds grape or pear tomatoes
•  pasta or spaghetti

Olympics

With the Winter Olympics now fully underway and the unpredictable British weather we are all currently spending a lot more time inside in the warm ,

Grapetini

                                                           1.7fl.oz/50ml Snow Queen Vodka                                                      0.85fl.oz/25ml white grape juice

                  Add the ingredients into a Boston shaker with a handful of ice cubes 

                Shake vigorously 

                     Strain and serve in a chilled martini glass       

                  Garnish with 2 cut grapes on a cocktail stick
